1. Introduction

The game of cricket is being played for a very long time. Its fame increased all over the world. It’s played in many countries. People of any age love to watch it. Whenever any international cricket match is held, lakhs of people gather from different places to watch it in the stadium.

It’s such a popular game that children and youths play it with great enthusiasm on the streets or roads of their locality.

It’s a game played at both the national and international levels, the rules of which are governed by the respective councils. This game was first played in England. After that, the game reached the national level and now it’s played at the international level with very strong competition.

Lots of teams participate in the game to win the trophy but in the end, only two teams reach the final match. The team that scores more runs wins the match.

2. How to play it?

To play this game, a coin is tossed by the umpire in the presence of the captions of two teams that have to compete. The team that wins the toss bats first. The toss-winning team can also choose to field first if it wants.

When the match starts, both teams are on the playground. One team bats and the other bowls & fields. The team batting first aims to score as many runs as possible in the stipulated number of overs and the team that bowls aims to get the batsman out.

Every team gets chances to bat and bowl in its turns which is also called innings.

In the end, the team which scores more runs is considered the winner and the player who performs well during the match is considered ‘Man of the Match’. The winning team is awarded a trophy and sometimes prize money as well.

Cricket is one of the most popular games all over the world. It’s played in almost all the countries like India, Pakistan, Australia, Newzealand, England, etc.

Only a bat and a ball are needed to play this game. Its main objective is to score as many runs as possible. In this game, every team has eleven players. Apart from this, there are many other people who have their own responsibilities.

The game is played on a circular field with pitches twenty-two yards long and ten feet wide. The pitch is the place where the actual game is played.

There is a batsman at one end of the pitch and a bowler at the other end of the pitch. The bowler aims to hit the stumps with his/her bowling techniques. If he/she is able to do so, the batsman is considered out and has to leave the field.

It’s been played for many decades. It has a lot of formats like Test matches, Twenty20, One Day Internationals, IPL, etc. The oldest format of this game is the Test match. They are played for five days. Teams in Test matches are of national level.

Nowadays the most popular format of cricket matches is IPL which is also known as Indian Premier League. It’s the most liked by cricket lovers.

Profession – Although I love teaching, but I also do blogging. Both are my favorite jobs.
